Clive Finkelstein

Clive Finkelstein is a Senior Consultant with Cutter Consortium's Business Intelligence Practice and a contributor to the Business Intelligence Advisory Service. He is an internationally renowned consultant and instructor and acknowledged worldwide as the "father" of Information Engineering.
Mr. Finkelstein is managing director of Information Engineering Services Pty Ltd in Australia and has over 40 years' experience in the computer industry. His current focus addresses the implementation of enterprise, or corporate, portals for business intelligence: he helps organizations evolve from data warehouses and datamarts to enterprise portals using XML. Mr. Finkelstein has completed projects for defense, government, and commercial organizations throughout the world and in most industries. The emphasis of many of these projects has been to bridge from strategic business plans to information systems, while aligning systems closely with corporate goals. They have involved JAD, RAD, Internet, data warehousing, enterprise architecture, enterprise engineering, XML, and corporate portals.
Mr. Finkelstein is the author of a number of books, including An Introduction to Information Engineering and Information Engineering: Strategic Systems Development. His latest book is Building Corporate Portals with XML, coauthored with Peter Aiken. He has published many papers throughout the world, has contributed chapters and forewords to several books, writes a monthly column, "The Enterprise" for DM Review, and publishes the free, quarterly The Enterprise Newsletter (TEN).
