The Convergence of BPM and SOA Continues
To me, the key question a unified architecture must answer is "How do you bridge between the tasks of a business process definition and the operational systems that implement the enterprise capabilities, and do so while creating a reusable set of well-defined business services?" Unfortunately, what I see over and over again is that BPM is often used to build higher-level, more efficient, but none-the-less siloed applications rather than contributing to an overall flexible, agile enterprise. This is where a proper SOA comes in.
